First, the program was superb. No Kidding. Worth every penny. Janey and I will be back!

Second, I really liked the idea of putting me in an actual coaching position right on the spot (during day 2).  Watching is good, but actually doing it is even better.  I thought that was a great idea.  It made me think more clearly about the drills and to look more carefully at what was happening during the swing.

Third, the “Mental Game” presentation on the last day was “off the charts” good!

Through this program I learned everything about rotational hitting and how it applies to fastpitch softball. I came here with no knowledge at all of this hitting technique, but after only 3 days I feel comfortable with the swing where I can replicate the drills when I go home. I’ve been to a lot of hitting clinics, but this is the only one that justifies what I see. The hitting approach was proven with many examples and pictures of successful players using this technique, instead of simply saying “because” like many other coaches.  Not only did I learn a great technique, but I learned how to use it in games by learning about he mental side of hitting.  One of the best things about this program is its simplicity. I really enjoyed the weekend and can’t wait to go and use what I learned!

I thought the technique of breaking down the segments of each drill was excellent.  Mike and Jake are excellent communicators who were able to translate their knowledge in a simple, patient manner.

 The tools, teaching methods and visual support of the technique were very effective. The countless references to MLB players and events were reassuring and served to support the “knowledge base” we were learning from.  The photo wall and photo album were very effective, especially on the second day, after we had begun the drills and had become “schooled” a little.

Jeff and I are very enthused and pleased to have attended your Coaching Weekend.

Mike and Jake – Thank you both for your hospitality and making us all feel welcome. The thing that really helped me the most was your “hands on” approach to teaching.  It was really simple to understand the rotational technique after you guys literally placed my elbows, legs, head, etc., into place.  The training helped me learn the technique faster and also helped ingrain the movements better than just reading your book or talking with coaches.  I also enjoyed the numerous “tips” you gave us, which will help us coaches better relate and teach the younger players.  The Sunday session covering the “Mental Game” and the question and answer session were also great!

I am looking forward to bringing my son (7) and daughter (10) to another clinic once they are ready.

Jake: Kit and I just returned to Seattle and I wanted to sit down right away and thank you and your Dad for putting on such an outstanding program.

It is so obvious that you both really care passionately not only about the science of hitting but about teaching it in a way that is so easy to understand. We both learned a tremendous amount. Yes, all the information is in the book and DVDs but the opportunity to see you actually implement it, the enthusiasm you have for it, the joy you show when each kid "gets it," - wow, that was priceless. We look forward to working with you in the future.

Mike: Thanks for listening to that inner voice that awoke when Ted suggested (told?) you to pass all this information on to the kids. That must have required a great deal of humility on your part. From our perspective (and I'm sure many, many others) you can take huge satisfaction in the knowledge that you have helped so many. Thanks for imparting what you know.

I have always been a believer that when you try to improve any facet of your life, you should seek out the best information available and the most qualified teacher. Additionally, I believe that a great system is necessary, in order to duplicate successful results. 

Mike Epstein’s research and diligent pursuit of finding the keys to hitting have given every hitter an opportunity to reach their potential. As coaches, we are constantly trying to help our players get to the next level. We spend countless hours and money to learn more, going to clinics, reading books, and watching videos. 

At the time I purchased your DVD “Do We Teach What We Really See?” and “How to 'Hit' Your Potential in Just 7 Days!” CD-ROM, I thought that was the best investment that I had ever made. Boy was I wrong!  

The “Coaching Weekend” was by far the best investment that I have ever made! To be able to experience along with other coaches from across the country, “The Epstein Teaching System,” was eye opening! To see and feel what you teach…the old Indian proverb you use is sooo true. You involved all of us - and we understood. 

Whether for baseball or softball, I urge every coach or parent to sign up for the next “Coaching Weekend.” You will not be disappointed.

I am sure we will do a clinic with you here once the word gets out to our 700 players. We have a small number of high school coaches that play in our league. Also, a lot of parents with kids who play ball. They NEED to understand and learn what you teach.

It wasn’t until I heard Mike Epstein speak at a baseball show in Cherry Hill, New Jersey that my understanding of hitting and teaching hitting reached a higher level. It has been a fun road ever since.

I have his DVDs, book, and CD-ROM. However, it wasn’t until I attended his Coaching Weekend and physically went through his drills that I more fully understood the correct physical positioning of the rear leg, the elbows, shoulders, and head in the rotational swing.

In training for jobs or sports you are told how to do something and then asked to demonstrate to see if you have it correct. It is amazing how many times in my life just telling someone how to do it has not been enough. It is the demonstration process by the trainee and the interaction with the trainer that gets the complete understanding of the process. That is what Mike and Jake Epstein’s Coaching Weekend accomplishes. Thanks Mike and Jake!
